TikTok user “Kass Theaz” (@isatandstared) recently stirred a mix of disbelief, annoyance, and humor after sharing a video in March 2022, where they claimed to be suing their parents for bringing them into the world without their approval.
Responding to a query about deserving things without working for them, Theaz indirectly mentioned feeling that they shouldn’t be obligated to do anything since they never chose to exist. Theaz’s argument was that their lack of say in their birth meant their parents should bear responsibility.
Their video attracted significant attention, gaining 1.5 million views and 13,900 likes at the time of checking. Though initially inaccessible, the video was made public after a query by Snopes.
Later, in June, Theaz shared an update, saying they’d been victorious in the supposed lawsuit, leading to their parents being mandated to provide them with $5,000 monthly for essentials like food and housing. They further emphasized that while they are set to receive this monthly stipend, any additional work they choose to take on would be purely for extra cash.
Theaz also released content indicating their belief against birthing children without their consent, though they clarified that this ethical stance doesn’t apply to their adopted kids. They humorously suggested that would-be parents should consult psychics to get their unborn child’s consent.
Theaz’s videos garnered diverse reactions and even caught the attention of various media outlets. However, the entire saga was fictitious. No lawsuit existed. Both Theaz’s TikTok and Instagram profiles have disclaimers indicating the satirical nature of their content. Theaz openly admits the comedic intent behind their videos.
Elaborating on their content, Theaz mentioned conducting a social experiment to determine which age groups are prone to disseminating unverified information online. They emphasized the satirical nature of their content and expressed intrigue at the minimal research users engage in.
