On Monday, Microsoft announced the new Windows ‘Surface’ Tablet. The Mircosoft Surface was originally a table top touch screen display (now called Microsoft PixelSense) made by Microsoft in 2007. The brains behind Microsoft’s marketing department decided to recycle the name as the first tablet designed exclusively by the software giant and actually it’s a pretty cool name and fitting for a device that will be one of the first to showcase Window’s brand new operating system, Windows 8 later this fall.
The Surface will be available in two versions, “Surface” or “Surface Pro”.
