Ty Dolla $ign has teamed up with Nicki Minaj once again for a new song titled “Expensive”
“Expensive” follows a number of other collabs from Ty this year. Including “Speed Me Up” with Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child off the Sonic the Hedgehog soundtrack, “Superstar” with 24hrs, “Dangerous City” with dvsn and Buju Banton, “All I Need” with Mahalia and Jacob Collier, and most recently, “Ego Death” with Kanye West, FKA Twigs and Skrillex.
A life of luxury is what Nicki and TY know and with the recent collab on”Expensive”, they don’t hesitate to remind you.
“‘Expensive’ is all about showing your girl that she deserves only the finest things in life,” Ty said in a press release for the track. “I wanted to put a female on the song and Nicki was the only voice I could hear on it. So when I sent her the record and she sent her verse right back, I knew we had a hit on our hands. Love to the Queen for blessing this song with another iconic verse!”
“Expensive” marks Ty’s third collaboration with Nicki, following “Swalla” with Jason Derulo and “Hot Girl Summer” with Megan Thee Stallion. It also arrives approximately two months after Ty delivered his star-studded track “Ego Death”.With additions from Kanye West, Skrillex, and more. Announcing the track, Ty comforted fans that his third solo album—the follow-up to 2017’s Beach House 3—is right around the corner. “Shout to my fans for being patient while I made sure it was perfect, it’s worth the wait…it’s my best work yet. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
“I can’t wait to see what the people will think about it,” Ty stated in a recent interview.
