Missy Elliott has us getting up on our feet during quarantine with her latest bright-colored artsy video “Cool Off”. Returning last year with Iconology, she surprised the world after being gone for over a decade. This new fun track, and visual has her transforming into real-life art while rapping her rhyming words.
She plunges into various pieces of art, with neon colors and tasty twerking throughout all scenes of the video. In the beginning, she is dipped in bronze. And then ends up a wobble doll while shouting for her dancers to go “round like a ceiling fan”. “Cool Off” is a refreshing video to view. It’s also safe to assume that with its catchy chants and contagious energy, that Missy has her mindset on becoming the latest TikTok trend.
Special appearance from Teyana Taylor at the end of the video reprising her role as the museum guide from the “Drip Demeanor” video. She celebrates Missy as the “the most timeless woman of all time” before giving a pep talk to a young, tracksuit-wearing dancer. “Go follow your dreams,” Taylor states to her.
