LOS ANGELES, Calif. – British actor Kit Harington was named as the worst-dressed man in a list compiled by GQ Magazine for its upcoming January 2018 issue.
Earlier in the year, the 30-year-old actor, who is famous for his role as Jon Snow in the television series Game of Thrones, was the magazine’s favorite male fashionista before this big turn around, according to PerthNow.
Harington, who is officially listed at 5 feet and 8 inches tall, has been regularly taunted online because of his small stature. The recent recognition would add to those gibes as expected.
Harington’s style is not always disliked though. The style bible had featured Harington in two articles last July, which are titled, “Kit Harington Shows You How to Look Sharp This Summer Without Going Near a Suit” and “Kit Harington Is Dressing Like Jon Snow Right Now – and We Like It.”
Both articles said to have had high praises for Harington, calling him “sharp” and “legendary,” until the month of December came along, Sky News reported. It seems like the Emmy Award-nominated actor would have to live through the title until another list comes along next year.
Harington was followed by fellow actor Paul Merton at the no. 2 spot, while internet celebrity Shmee150 landed at no. 3.
The top 10 also included other public figures like politician Jacob Rees-Mogg (fourth), singer-songwriter Morrissey (fifth), comedian PewDiePie (sixth), filmmaker Louis Theroux (seventh), DJ Marshmello (eighth), businessman Elon Musk (ninth), and fitness coach Joe Wicks (tenth).
Aside from the worst-dressed celebrities, GQ Magazine named the best-dressed as well.
Topping GQ Magazine’s list of the best dressed is Netflix’s The Crown star Matt Smith. Smith, 35, is recognized for his dapper dress flair.
However, in contrast to Harington, Smith had previously been the topic of style criticism for his role in Doctor Who as the series’ 11th doctor from 2010 to 2013. There were other articles describing those seasons as “fashion flop,” but Smith’s approach has evidently improved since then.
Following Smith are American rapper, songwriter, and record producer A$AP Rocky and renowned American actor Jeff Goldblum, who recently starred in the film Thor: Ragnarok, at the no. 2 and no. 3 positions.
Getting the no. 4 spot is English singer, songwriter, and actor Harry Styles, who is well known for being a Gucci fan. Styles is regularly seen sporting all-Gucci wardrobes from head to toe.
Popular Hollywood actors Andrew Garfield, Skepta, and Riz Ahmed have all made the list at the no. 5, no. 6, and no. 7 spots, respectively, with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds placing at no. 8.
Rounding out the top 10 are Brooklyn Beckham, son of football superstar David Beckham and former Spice Girl member Victoria Beckham, and Alessandro Michele, who is an Italian fashion designer and current Gucci creative director. Beckham is said to be following the footsteps of his fashion designer mom as the youngest person in the list.
The people in the lists are nominated and selected by GQ magazine’s staff as well as other experts from the fashion industry such as Sir Paul Smith, Giorgio Armani, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and Christopher Bailey.
The GQ Magazine’s January 2018 issue will be released on December 4.
