In honor of his birthday. Russ gifted fans with a visually dope music video for his new single “Take You Back” featuring Cali singer Kehlani. Earlier this year, Russ dropped his latest project Shake The Snow Globe. And followed up with the deluxe version months after.
This “Take You Back” track was released last month as being apart of Russ series of music he was dropping. Which was almost weekly that he released a new track. One of those songs was ‘Live From The Villa’, which heard Russ honor his mother and offer advice to upcoming artists.
The new “Take You Back” video is directed by Edgar Esteves. Who has been on top of his game this month. Topping his production for recent visuals. Like “MISMATCH” by Bino Rideaux featuring Young Thug, “BANG BANG” by Mike WiLL Made-It and Chief Keef. “SAME HANDS” by BIA and Lil Durk, and “Right Now” by Toosii. The video shows Russ and Kehlani in a number of different captivating landscapes, including a seemingly endless field of flowers and snowy mountain tops.
“Young and in love, so we prone to mistakes /I ain’t gon’ front like I know what it takes,” he sings adding, “‘Cause I f*cked up, then you f*cked up / Now it’s f*cked up, goddamn.”
Kehlani blessed this song with her lyrics. Adding that “Take you back, why should I take you back?” she questions while reminding him in the next line that it was, in fact, Russ who brought the relationship to an end. “You the one that f*cked this up, yeah / You the one that turned this out.”
