Katy Perry has become the first person to land 100 million followers on Twitter.
The 32-year-old Roar singer hit the social media milestone on Friday, a week after launching her fourth studio album, Witness, with a groundbreaking 96-hour YouTube special, which fans from more than 190 countries tuned in to watch.
The online series, which generated over 49 million views, featured Katy documenting every minute of every day over the weekend via a live streamed global event.
Ironically, just before Katy hit the 100 million followers mark officially, U.S. leader Donald Trump claimed he had beaten her to the milestone in a tweet which read: “The Fake News Media hates when I use what has turned out to be my very powerful Social Media – over 100 million people! I can go around them.”
In fact, the President only has 32.4 million followers on Twitter – 63 million if you add those who follow him on Instagram and Facebook.
