Kamaal Williams Faces Additional Sexual Harassment Allegations
Following the initial allegations of sexual assault against London electronic jazz musician Kamaal Williams, four more women have come forward with accusations of sexual harassment. The original allegations were made back in May by three different women, as reported by Resident Advisor. These women claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Williams in 2010, 2021, and 2023.
Williams, whose real name is Henry Wu, has denied the allegations through a representative, stating that the claims are “untrue and emphatically denied.” As a result of the initial allegations, all of Williams’ upcoming gigs in the UK were canceled.
The latest accusations come from four more women who have spoken to Resident Advisor about their experiences with the musician. Although unrelated, the women detailed similar alleged events involving Williams. Each victim described instances where Williams reportedly forced himself on them, with two individuals stating that he finished inside them without consent. One woman claimed she became pregnant and had to undergo an abortion, while another alleged she contracted an STI from Williams.
One of the women recounted how Williams invited her to a studio under the pretense of working on music, only to assault her in a private room. Another victim claimed that Williams initiated contact via Instagram DMs, leading to an assault during their meeting. She also alleged that Williams continued to harass her after the incident, culminating in another assault during their final encounter.
NME has reached out to Williams for a response to the new allegations, but as of now, he has not commented on the matter. If you are in need of help or advice regarding sexual harassment, assault, or rape in the UK, organizations like Rape Crisis offer support and resources. In the US, organizations like RAINN provide similar services to those in need.
The emergence of these additional allegations serves as a reminder of the importance of listening to and supporting victims of sexual misconduct. It is crucial for individuals and communities to take such accusations seriously and work towards creating a safe and respectful environment for all.
