Not every superhero will survive X-Men: Apocalypse but that hasn’t stopped its star mutant from looking to the future.
Despite complaints in the past, Jennifer Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly that she would be open to returning as Mystique in future X-Men films, but she’s still undecided.
“I would love to come back. I love the fans, and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know,” she said.
When the film hits theaters this week, Jennifer Lawrence’s three-picture deal will expire along with her other co-stars Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and James McAvoy (Professor X). Even though she has reservations about what projects she wants to take going forward, she admits she’d be willing to put on the blue body paint again under one condition.
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking. Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are,” Lawrence confessed.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters this Friday, May 27.
