AUSTIN, Texas – Famous television host Chris Harrison is reportedly extremely sad for having to leave ‘The Bachelor’ reality TV show.
It was on June 8th that his exit from the dating show got officially announced. Just hours after the Bachelorette’s 17th season premiered, the news came out that Chris will not be returning to the Bachelor franchise for good. The TV host and ABC already settled for him to step aside from the host role of the popular dating series.
The decision came after fans of the famous ABC dating show petitioned him to leave the franchise after sparking controversy for racist remarks.
As most fans know, Chris got heavy backlash for his defense of the show’s controversial contestant Rachael Kirkconnell.
Chris Harrison held the host role for the franchise for 19 years, but Bachelorette alums Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams will be hosting Bachelorette this season. Meanwhile, David Spade is stepping in to take the hosting role for the Bachelor in Paradise spinoff.
Although Chris and ABC already reached a hefty settlement for his Bachelor’s exit, a source said that the host is still sad about it. He’s sorry that it got to the point where he had to leave the franchise/ However, an insider also explained that he’s taking his time to learn from the adversity and hope that it will also open new opportunities to do better in the hosting world.
The source also said that Chris Harrison will always love his time working with the Bachelor franchise, and he will always have his memories and friends from it.
The same insider shared that although the host is a bit scared of the new horizons and opportunities along the way, he wants to take his time to land on his feet before anything else. As a result, he will be out of the spotlight for a bit but wants to continue with his work.
