Ariana Grande recently enjoyed sharing the experience of the Broadway revival of “Spamalot” with her father, Ed Butera.
Grande, aged 30, posted a video on Instagram Story on December 24 showing Butera, 65, amusing himself with props backstage at New York City’s St. James Theatre. In the video, Butera was playfully creating galloping sounds with two half-circle props, while Grande, in the background, laughed at her father’s antics.
Butera later shared his daughter’s Instagram post on his own story, expressing his delight with a caption reading, “So much fun!!”
Grande has attended “Spamalot” several times since its opening in November. Her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, 31, stars in the show as The Historian/The Prince. Grande, a Broadway veteran herself, made her debut on the stage as a teenager in “13 The Musical.”
Her first visit to “Spamalot” was during its previews, accompanied by Elizabeth Gillies, her co-star from “13 The Musical” and “Victorious.” Grande also made an appearance at the show’s official opening night.
Grande and Slater’s romance was first reported in July, following their meeting on the set of the “Wicked” film adaptations in London. In these films, Grande is cast as Galinda/Glinda, while Slater will play the role of Boq. The production of these movies has been temporarily halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Both Grande and Slater began their relationship following the end of their previous marriages. Us Weekly reported in July that Grande had split from Dalton Gomez, whom she married in 2021, finalizing their divorce in October. Slater, meanwhile, filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a 12-month-old son.
Despite Jay’s claims of being blindsided by Slater’s decision to divorce and start a relationship with Grande, multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that both Grande and Slater’s relationships had ended prior to their romance.
Currently, Grande and Slater are living together in New York City, with both of their families supporting the relationship. A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that Grande sees a long-term future with Slater. They share many common interests, including their love for theater. Their relationship is described as flourishing, effortless, and drama-free.
