This weekends virtual BET awards will be something new to experience along with Lizzo’s first in 20 years of the shows history to be nominated for both best female R&B/pop artist and best female hip-hop artist in the same year.
Bringing Lizzo’s achievements to a more elevated level, no artist has ever been nominated in both categories in the same year.
With a good chance of winning best R&B/Pop female artist, she does have some challenged competition. The other nominees she is going against for the win are Beyonce, which has won 10 time and for the last 6 years in a row. Along with H.E.R another credible artist. Jhene Aiko and Kehlani are also great artist as well. This is a intense face off for the win.
In the female hip-hop category, the top contenders are to be Cardi B, who has won the last two years and seven-time winner Nicki Minaj along with emerging new hot girl artist Megan Thee Stallion.
