The Hollywood celebrities Beyoncé and Taylor Swift fail to push the candidates over the finish line in the midterms.
We saw Beyoncé going public on Tuesday with her support to the Beto O’Rourke. She was seen endorsing the Texas Congressman for his run in the Senate. She went public with two of her pictures with the politician with the caption saying that ‘Every vote counts. Every race matters. Everywhere’. But this wasn’t enough, as he lost the spot to the Republican candidate Ted Cruz.
This wasn’t all, as, after the loss, actress Alyssa Milano twitted her support towards O’Rourke for his run against President Donald Trump in the 2020 election. Her tweet said, ‘Beto lost? That’s ok. Now he can run for President. #Beto2020.’ This was also followed with Busy Philipps, Olivia Wilde, and Josh Gad’s support to the leader for a presidential run in 2020.
On the other hand, Singer Taylor’s endorsed politician Phil Bredesen also faced a loss against Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn, who now is the first woman governor for the state. Taylor Switch was in full support with the politician for his run for the next Tennessee governor.
She also came forward in public with her support when she explained in October why she believes in Bredesen. She addressed her fans with the voting records of the Blackburn who has gone against the equal pay for women and LGBT legislation apart from many other things. The singer’s endorsement for the politician saw a quick rise in the supporters or Phil Bredesen but wasn’t enough for helping him win.
These results have definitely raised a question over the 2020 elections. It also proves that Hollywood do not anymore influence the voters or the elections and won’t be able to push the politicians over the finish line just by their support.
